Volunteer with The Green Team – can you help?

If you enjoy spending time outdoors, working with young people and learning new skills whilst making a practical contribution to the environment and your community then we’d love to explore the opportunity for you to volunteer with The Green Team.

All of our programmes rely on volunteers to support our project coordinators in delivering challenging, fun and rewarding outdoor activities for young people. With a wide range of programmes running 7 days a week we have lots of flexibility to fit in with your interests, experience and availability.

We provide training in areas such as health and safety, leadership, outdoor activities and child protection for our volunteer leaders (all for free) so all you need is a sense of adventure, lots of enthusiasm and a little bit of patience.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Other Volunteer Roles

We have a wide range of opportunities for volunteers who may wish to help or develop skills in broader roles within the Green Team, such as:

  • fundraising: taking on sponsored challenges or helping with community fundraising eg supermarket bag-packs
  • stores: maintaining our equipment and keeping our stores tidy
  • administration: supporting project and customer administration

Weekend Volunteering

If you can only volunteer at weekends but would like to be contacted when we have a requirement for more volunteer leaders, please complete the waiting list form and we will be in touch when the situation changes.

The Green Team is committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity and enabling inclusion. We have also signed up to The Volunteer Charter through Volunteer Scotland which helps to ensure that volunteers are engaged in meaningful, inclusive and legitimate tasks which do not undermine the role of paid workers.

We welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, particularly where we are under-represented. Currently, this includes people who identify as having a disability, and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.
