Adam’s Volunteer Story
Adam started volunteering with The Green Team in 2023. He has been a regular and much valued Volunteer Leader on a range of Green Team programmes including our monthly Green Volunteers and Green Explorers.
Adam has also been on our residentials and, most recently, he has been supporting our new NeuroSpicy programme,
‘I’ve been around for around two years now and I think The Green Team do a fantastic job at looking after the young people who come on the programmes but also the volunteers and staff.
‘I think it’s a really really nice community and that’s why I keep coming back!’
During our 2025 Winter Celebration we had the chance to catch up with Adam and ask him about his volunteering experience with The Green Team,
Mandy, our Green Team Volunteer Coordinator has enjoyed welcoming Adam to the volunteer team,
‘Having Adam on our team is brilliant. He brings so much to each project. Adam is a wonderful role model and his ability to engage with young people on our projects is amazing. He is solid, dependable, and fun and our young people really enjoy getting to know him. Staff also love having Adam on the team.’

VOLUNTEERING WITH THE GREEN TEAM
The Green Team is committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity and enabling inclusion. We have also signed up to The Volunteer Charter through Volunteer Scotland which helps to ensure that volunteers are engaged in meaningful, inclusive and legitimate tasks which do not undermine the role of paid workers.
We welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, particularly where we are under-represented. Currently, this includes people who identify as having a disability, and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.
