Are you aged between 12-18? Do you like being outside and want to do things to help conserve nature? This could be the programme for you!
Green Volunteers offers a variety of conservation work days throughout the year. Explore and work in a variety of wild places around Edinburgh, the Lothians and further afield. This programme runs 2-3 times a month on a Sunday and involves tasks like planting trees, working on paths, clearing invasive non-native species as well as lots of other ways to conserve the environment for nature.
We provide tools and equipment, waterproofs/boots if required and full safety instructions for the task ahead as well as a steady supply of biscuits and hot drinks! Transport is provided by minibus from a central location.
Taking part in Green Volunteers can contribute towards Volunteering or Skill sections of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. We also offer opportunities to work towards the John Muir Award. The programme is open to anyone who wants to make a positive difference to the environment whether they want to undertake an award or just have fun and meet new friends.
Costs for the day are £16 (or £4 for a low-income household). There are free places available, please get in touch with david.hughes@greenteam.org.uk if you would like to join in but can’t manage the costs.

This year we are running our week-long summer residential on the beautiful Isle of Arran, a place we have visited many times before. The week is perfect for those looking to get more conservation experience, to get away from it all or doing their Gold DofE.
To find out more or book, visit our booking page (opens in another window) where you will find an FAQs sheet, but hurry, there are only a couple of places remaining.
