young girl foraging in the woods

nature’s autumn harvest

At the beginning of September we were delighted to re-start two blocks of nature play sessions for pre-school children and their parents or carers. With small family groups, it was easy to connect with nature and enjoy time outdoors, whilst still maintaining social distancing for the adults in the group. So far we have enjoyed picking berries, creating art with natural materials, telling stories, playing in the hammock and enjoying games with the parachute. The sessions are run by our education officer, Margon, at the Saughtonhall Community Hall. A lovely, secure and green oasis with lots of opportunities to explore the natural world.

Berries, mudpies, painting trees, hammocks, autumn mandala, willow fish and stories in the outdoors

“This morning was joyous!”
