Low Carbon Footprint for Green Team Website
Thanks to support from The Eco-Friendly Web Alliance (EFWA), The Green Team has actioned the impact that its website has on the environment. Actions suggested by the EFWA included compressing images, reducing image file sizes and overall page weight with the aim of getting it under 1 gram of CO2 per page view threshold, making it an eco-friendly website.
EFWA’s mission is to accelerate the delivery of a sustainable digital economy by helping organisations reduce carbon emissions of their websites, digital platforms and infrastructure, creating a pathway towards climate positivity and the use of clean green energy. Eco-Friendly Web Alliance (EFWA), a multi-organisational international alliance, has developed the world’s first eco standard for websites and digital infrastructure. The alliance is aiming to prevent 500,000 tonnes of CO2 entering the atmosphere by 2030 by helping websites across the world become greener.
