Outdoor Learning Challenge 2019
This time last year was the Outdoor Learning Challenge in Holyrood park hosted by City of Edinburgh Council. We worked with around 150 pupils over two days, lighting kelly kettles, toasting marshmallows, drinking hot chocolate and listening to stories in the tipi tent. Unfortunately this year, like many events, the Outdoor Learning Challenge has been cancelled.
Despite not being able to work directly with schools in Edinburgh at the moment, we are still able to support schools with their own outdoor learning challenge.
We can support teachers with CPD training, offer a list of resources (suggested books, links to websites) and provide a list of activities to support outdoor learning based around topics such as bugs, trees, maths, literacy and John Muir Award. Resources will soon be available online and we can bring resources and equipment to your school in Edinburgh using our eco-friendly e-cargo bike.
“Our trip into the woods, is a particularly happy memory of the class for me!
The activities were brilliant as was your attitude to letting the kids get on with it, thank you, we all really enjoyed it. “
