Join us for five nights in the Caledonian pine forests of Glenfeshie in the heart of the Cairngorm mountains. During this week the mighty River Feshie will be our teacher as it snakes and braids its way through rewilded glens filled with ancient pines. Deep in the forest where wildcats prowl and capercaillie lek.
What will we be doing?
During this week our task will be focussed on restoring a pond ecosystem. We will learn about the benefits of water and wetlands for conservation and recreation and become entangled in the web of life in the Cairngorms, developing our own ecological field studies skills as we explore the rich biodiversity that this area provides. We will also have the chance to experience some of the adventure that the river affords us by gorge walking in the valleys created by the cool waters that cascade down from the mountains.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone that is interested in developing some ecological field skills, understanding biodiversity or undertaking their Gold Duke of Edinburgh residential section.
We will be based at Lagganlia.
Accommodation will be dormitory style, all meals are provided and we will be catered for during the week.
