The latest from Green Shoots
As the school term comes to an end, the Green Shoots Advanced Group have been spending the last 3 weeks exploring the North Esk River.
Our team started from the source of the river in the Pentland Hills, and are working their way downstream to visit and work at the Three Hares Woodland and Roslin Glen.
The group completed some tree care work at the Three Hares and grassland habitat restoration at Roslin Glen.
They have also been using their Green Shoots skills and knowledge, tending and exploring the wild spaces.
Next up, the group are working at Springfield Mill, before heading to the source of the South Esk River. After the summer holidays, the team will continue journeying down the South Esk, to the point where the two rivers meet in Dalkeith.
Friendships and community
Along the way, the team worked hard forming friendships and working out our community agreements.

More about the Advanced Programme
The Green Shoots Advanced Programme works with young people who have done a previous Green Shoots Programme and are looking to increase their skills and knowledge, as well as gain extra support throughout their week.
The group meets up weekly for 4 weeks before the summer holidays and 4 weeks afterwards. There is also a residential at the end of both halves of the programme.
