At the start of the summer holidays a group from Skylarks and Green Volunteers spent a week on the majestic Isle of Eigg.  Working alongside community groups and the local wildlife rangers, we cleared around the orchard apple trees to help with local food initiatives, helped in the tree nursery so Eigg can be reforested with local trees and removed litter from a remote beach to reduce ocean plastics.  After all our hard work we explored the stunning lansdscapes on the island.  Some of us climbed the Sgùrr of Eigg,  and were rewarded with breathtaking views all around before the cloud came down.  Others cycled to the singing sands with its beautiful audio landscape, white sand and turquoise sea.

A week of living and working together, some of us completing their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award residential, and we were on the ferry back, ready to be home but also not wanting to leave!

A huge thank you to the Green Team staff and volunteers for their tireless energy and to the participants for making the week such a success.
