Struan out walking in woodlandWe are delighted to announce the appointment of Struan Johnston as The Green Team’s newest member of staff. Struan will be working with Margon on our Green Schools programme delivering environmental education and outdoor learning, mainly to primary schools in Edinburgh. This increased Schools work comes thanks to funding from the Connected Communities Edinburgh grant programme, provided by the City of Edinburgh Council in partnership with the NHS and Police Scotland.  He will also be taking over the delivery of Green Explorers, our weekend programme for 8-12 year olds.

Struan has been volunteering with The Green Team since 2019 and has more recently been supporting Green Team programmes as a sessional member of staff. Struan comes with a wealth of practical conservation skills from years of volunteering for a range of organisations, including local parks, national parks and the RSPB. He has also worked with the Edinburgh Science Festival delivering sessions such as making microscopes out of cardboard and has a lot of experience in working with young people through play, science, environmental and nature connection activities.

We look forward to having him as part of our team.
