13-19th September: Edinburgh Napier University Student’s Association Climate Week
As part of a week-long campaign to raise awareness of climate challenges and the part we can all play in making a difference, The Green Team will be running a conservation day for new students at Napier University to experience a project with us. We will spend time improving one of the many greenspaces in Edinburgh and no doubt there might be the odd wilderness challenge too!
Opportunities for adults to volunteer with us include our Green Wellies conservation days or becoming a volunteer leader with us. Our volunteer leaders are the backbone of the organisation, supporting young people on our weekend and midweek programmes such as Green Volunteers and Green Angels. We will also have an information stand during Climate Week.
22nd September: Edinburgh Volunteer Recruitment Fair, 11am-7pm
St Paul’s and St George’s Church, York Place.
We are returning to the Volunteer Recruitment Fair to share the volunteering opportunities available for young people and adults. These include not only the conservation days we do with adult groups but also the adult volunteering opportunities to support young people out on projects but other areas of the business including marketing and fundraising. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, improve community greenspaces and build new skills including leadership.
The event is free to attend, simply pop in at any time between 11am and 7pm. The fair will also feature access to volunteering and employment specialists, a friendly café to relax and refresh in, and of course access to hundreds of other volunteering opportunities, all under one roof.
