Looking for a simple, flexible way to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the young people you work with? Join us for an informal and interactive afternoon to learn more about the JAS Award.

Following the success of our first Discover the Jas Award event, we are delighted to invite you to another. This FREE event introduces the JAS Award to schools, groups and organisations across Edinburgh.

About the Jas Award

JAS Award (Join in Award Scheme) is an internationally recognised, accessible and highly flexible entry level award programme. Suitable for ALL ages, it is designed to encourage, capture and celebrate personal achievement – supporting learning through nature, discovery, adventure and being active.

Suitable for all ages and abilities, the JAS Award can be used across a wide range of settings including schools, youth groups, community organisations, outdoor learning programmes and support services.

Its flexible structure allows participants to work towards goals that are meaningful to them, building confidence, motivation and a sense of achievement along the way. One of the great strengths of JAS is that it can be integrated into activities you are already delivering.

Whether participants are developing life skills, engaging in outdoor learning, volunteering, creative projects, sports, wellbeing activities, environmental action or community involvement, JAS provides a simple framework to recognise progress and success.

Hear examples of how organisations are already using JAS
Meet other practitioners and share ideas

Who should attend?

Teachers, support staff, youth workers, outdoor learning practitioners, community organisations, charities and anyone interested in recognising and celebrating achievement through a flexible, inclusive award programme.

Feedback from our Discover Jas event in May

After an introduction to what the JAS Award is and how children/young people can take part, we headed outside to try a few practical activities together. From simple creative learning ideas to outdoor exploration and art, everyone joined in and there was lots of enthusiasm, discussion and laughter along the way.
