If you enjoy spending time outdoors, learning new skills and meeting new people whilst making a practical contribution to the environment and your community then we’d love to explore the opportunity for you to become a volunteer leader with us.

All of our programmes rely on volunteer leaders (we have around 50 on our books at any one time) to support our project coordinators in delivering challenging, fun and rewarding outdoor activities for young people. With a wide range of programmes running 7 days a week we have lots of flexibility to fit in with your interests, experience and availability.

In addition to volunteer leaders, we have a wide range of opportunities for volunteers who may wish to help or develop skills in broader roles within the Green Team, such as:

  • photography and videography: capturing our programmes for promotional material and website content
  • fundraising: taking on sponsored challenges or helping with community fundraising eg supermarket bag-packs
  • stores: maintaining our equipment and keeping our stores tidy
  • marketing and communications: supporting the promotion of the Green Team and its activities

We wouldn’t be here without our volunteers who generously give of their time, talents and so much more. We can’t thank them enough.

If you are ready to apply: complete the application form and Mandy will be in touch as soon as possible.

If you want to find out more: contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Mandy who will be happy to help.

The Green Team is committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity and enabling inclusion.

We welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, particularly where we are under-represented. Currently, this includes people who identify as having a disability, and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.

TRAINING SCHEDULE 2023

We provide training in areas such as health and safety, leadership, outdoor activities and child protection for our volunteer leaders (all for free) so all you need is a sense of adventure, lots of enthusiasm and a little bit of patience.

View our training calendar for 2023 here. Most sessions are run for our volunteer leaders only but we do run some training modules for the public.
