“The Green Team - do fun work, meet great people and best of all, help save the environment”

The Green Team runs activities in the outdoors for young people, a wonderful mix of learning and doing. We offer opportunities to take part in environmental projects all over Edinburgh and the Lothians. Join us on our Green Volunteers programme of residentials and Sunday projects for 14-25 year olds led by adult volunteers trained by the Green Team. Read the blog to get a flavour of what's involved, and all the news about what the Green Team gets up to.

The Sunday projects are a way for you to help local communities to create environmental improvements in your area, and get a taste of the Green Team. It's a chance for you to gain some experience in conservation and more importantly to meet new people and have fun. All Green Team Sunday projects depart from Tynecastle High School (McLeod Street, Edinburgh - map) at 10:00am, returning at 5pm or you can arrange to meet us at the site. Each day costs £10 per person, which includes transport, tea and biscuits.

Green Angels is our new programme for girls aged between 12 and 18. Discover some stunning countryside and make a difference ... find out more

“Green Team residential projects = the best baked potatoes EVER!”

"I have made new friends and got to know lots of different people that I wouldn't have without Green Team. It has let me visit a lot of different places and helped me learn more about the environment - the impact that we have on it and the importance of protecting the green spaces that we have in and around Edinburgh and indeed anywhere. I have learnt how to use a wide variety of tools and been involved in a lot of different activities that have helped me learn more about myself and other people."   Jamie

All Green Team weekend projects depart from Tynecastle High School (McLeod Street, Edinburgh - map) at 9am on Saturday and return at 5pm on Sunday. Each weekend costs £25 per person, which includes transport, food and accommodation.

If you are having difficulty meeting the cost of these projects then please get in touch with us, we still want you to come! With a Young Scot card you pay £7.50 for a Sunday project and £19 for a weekend. www.youngscot.org

We work at a range of countryside sites and wild places, some of which do not have toilets. We will always be able to go offsite to a local toilet but will encourage those who can to find a private spot in the bushes. Information about toilet availability is included in the programme:
